Run the 'Heretic II Enhancement Pack v1.06 (14.1 MB) which can be found Google the internet. Install the 'win2kserverfix' download link below.

What do you need to know about free software?
From Mike L.:I use Windows 7 here because it works with what I have, always did, always will. Why upgrade to 10 just to break your stuff? I bet the game worked fine before you upgraded to 10. Don't complain to steam because YOU took the spy-a-plenty Windows 10 download that has patches to deliberately break steam and it's games and hence promote Windows. Heretic is the only video game of any kind that I have ever played. I have played it since the late 1990's? Whenever I had time now and then (which wasn't too often, since I was a professor and testing lab co-owner for years) and I have loved it. My grown 'kids' (5) and more recently my 10 grandchildren man the 'gun' while I do the maneuvering.
